189. Brazilian Contemporary Jewellery

Is a brand dedicated to sustainability, timeless design, and artisanal craftsmanship. Each piece is handcrafted in Brazil using recycled materials — always nickel-free, hypoallergenic, and often inlaid with 24k gold.

Founded by designer and goldsmith Stephanie Perla, the brand reflects her background in Fashion at Faculdade Santa Marcelina (São Paulo) and her international training at Central Saint Martins (London) and Alchimia Jewellery School (Florence). These influences are present in the organic movement and sculptural flow of each creation, where texture becomes a signature, transforming metal into rhythm, emotion, and narrative.

The aesthetic of 189 is also shaped by Stephanie’s broader inspirations: architectural forms, the layered richness of Brazilian art, ancestral cultures such as African adornments, and the quiet, raw beauty of nature — stones, trees, and natural patterns viewed through a poetic lens. More than jewelry, each piece is a tactile story — designed to be personal, expressive, and enduring. Made to last, made by hand.
